PAROS ISLAND WHIMSICAL WEDDING AT VILLA AETHRA

ALEXANDRA & YSMAEL

As seen on Wedding Chicks

What is the first thing that reminds you of a destination wedding in Greece? We bet it’s the sun, or the coolness of the sea, or even a peaceful walk barefoot on a beach. For Alexandra and Ysmael it was all that and even more when they decided to have a destination wedding in PAROS, one of the most beautiful Aegean Island in Greece.

Alexandra, a Greek - American bride and Ysmael, a Dominican groom, with their family and closest friends travelled from New York to Paros for their wedding and to party privately in one of the most iconic villas in the Island!

For couples choosing Greece for their wedding, it can get pretty overwhelming planning all the details. It was my honor for choosing me as their wedding planner. For the very first moment we felt like we knew each other for years. Alexandra had visited Paros as a teenager and it was the only choice for their wedding, since she was in love with the island. I met them in person six moths before the wedding, when we visited Paros to arrange all the details. For Ysmael it was his first time in Greece and I was very happy to share with him and Alexandra all these emotions.

We worked closely with the couple on a concept that revolved around the delicate elegance of summertime in Greece, the ambience of the location and the colors of the surrounding. And we are so excited we “broke” the traditional wedding color rules! Fuchsia, pink and peach are working perfectly together!

The ceremony was held in the small chapel called Agios Fokas just next to the sea . If something worth investing in a wedding day is a memorable experience. Alexandra arrived at the ceremony on a traditional boat, accompanied with folk wedding tunes played by three local musicians, where she met Ysmael, waiting for her with the warmest smile. .

After the intimate wedding ceremony, we curated a lovely reception at the iconic villa Aetrha with one the most memorable sunset view in the island.

We curated everything according to the wedding style, bringing in specially selected furniture and dinnerware. Terracotta, peach and touches of fuchsia, as well as modernly constructed centerpieces and details, made the dinner setting so elegant and set the tone for the rest of the night. The details I adored? The wedding favors, with local products!

I witnessed some of the most emotional speeches during dinner! The wedding of Alexandra and Ysmael had it all: the bluest sky above them, the saltiness of the aegean sea, the brightest of colors and the most important element: LOVE! And not just theirs for each other, but the love of all who joined them in their sacred union! Fun fact: I was informed that one of the groom’s best friends, who happens to be a great host back to New York, would announce the new Mr and Mrs…at the end I informed him for the whole timeline and I passed him the microphone! Kevin was so kind to refuse and I had the best host I could ask for!

Raise your glasses everyone to Alexandra & Ysmael!

Let the festivities begin!
